Thank you for your interest in adopting from Rescue Me Tucson, a volunteer-run nonprofit organization. We reserve the right to make the best match for the animals in our care based on the needs, breed or mix and age of the animal.

Please read all of the following information in order to help us better assist you.

We are not a same-day adoption agency. We work with multiple nonprofit shelters & rescues. Please text or call 520-261-1616 to verify the animal is still available. Our last Meet and Greet is 4 PM Daily.

  • Adopters must be at least 21 years old.
  • We don’t accept applications “by proxy” on behalf of other people. 
  • Please understand that we are seeking permanent, compatible homes for animals who have lost their homes and security at least once.
  • Applications are completed online and reviewed within 48 hours with the Rescue or shelter who owns the animal. A joint decision is made regarding the best placement. 
  • You may access the RMT application online at www.rescuemetucson.org/index.php/adopt/
  • Once you submit the application, you’ll receive confirmation of submission. We’ll respond via the email provided within 48 hours. Please be patient. 
  • Applicants for HARTT animals MUST use HARTT’s online form: 
    • Due to the volume of applications, ot all HARTT Applications will receive a response.  
  • All adults involved in the adoption and care of the animal are required to meet the animal and agree to the adoption.
  • A Facetime Home Visit is required for some agencies after an application is initially approved. The purpose of the visit is to check for safety (fencing, gates, etc.)
  • Appointments are required for meet and greets with dogs already in the household.
    • Due to safety concerns,  NO retractable leashes are allowed for dog meet and greets. 
  • Appointments are preferred to meet our animals. Walk-in visitors are welcome, but may have to wait for assistance due to limited staffing. 4 PM is the last meet and greet of the day.
  • For appointments, please text or call 520-261-1616. Allow up to 24 hours for a response.  
  • We do not facilitate introductions between cats and dogs, or between multiple cats.
  • If you are unable to access the internet to fill out an application, please secure trusted assistance.  

Before starting the application below insure you know the correct name of the rescue the animal is from so you submit the correct application.
